Introduction

This article will explain how to generate the required credentials to set up orders and inventory syncing with a Channel Engine vendor.

ChannelEngine offers a set of features for selling products and managing orders online. You can publish and automatically sync products between your ChannelEngine vendors and your store. Onport also automates order routing and tracking, so that ChannelEngine vendors are able to view, fulfill, and track orders directly from their ChannelEngine account.

Automating order routing

To automate order routing with a ChannelEngine vendor, your vendor will need to provide you with the following:

  • API key
  • API URL

To generate these, your vendor will need to login to their ChannelEngine account and do the following:

  1. Click on Settings on the menu on the left and click Merchant API keys
  2. Click the Add button, and give the key a name (for internal purposes). Click save and this should now generate the API key. On the top, there will also be the API URL. These credentials can then be copied across.

Automating inventory sync

The inventory sync automation can be setup in two different ways in Onport. The first is to select “ChannelEngine” in the inventory feed options and use the same API credentials that were created for the order automation. However, the recommended option is to select “ChannelEngine CSV”, as with the current integration this is the more efficient way to sync inventory.

To do this:

  1. Select “ChannelEngine CSV” when setting up an inventory feed.

  1. Copy across the CSV URL. Your vendor will be able to find the CSV URL in their ChannelEngine account. To do this, they will need to go to Channels and click view on the channel associated with your store. Then click on Product Selection, and copy the URL next to the Download CSV button.
