Introduction

In this article, we describe how you can integrate with your Shippo account and connect with 85+ carriers around the world. Print labels and fetch rates without having to leave Onport.

Getting started

By integrating with Shippo, Onport can fetch and display live rates at checkout, and generate labels for both in-house and dropship orders. Everything will be processed within Onport, saving you and your vendors time when processing orders.

Connecting your Shippo account

1 - Go to http://lets.goshippo.com/onport and sign up for a partner account. You'll need to enter billing details - this will be used to charge for label creation.

2 - Once signed up, you'll be given two tokens: a live API token and a test API token. These tokens are needed when creating the integration.

3 - Go to your Onport account, and navigate to Integrations > Shippo. Turn on Use Shippo token and enter the token. We recommend entering the test API key to start with. This means you won't be charged for the labels (you'll see on any label printed whether it's a test label or not).

You'll now be able to generate labels through your Shippo account. We recommend checking out the Shippo documentation for details on how to add additional carrier accounts.

Note: it is important that the API version in Shippo account and Onport are consistent. The version you have under Integrations > Shippo should match the one set in Shippo. If the version in Shippo is more recent than the latest supported version available in Onport, you should backtrack the version in Shippo to the latest available version in Onport with no loss of functionality.
