Introduction

In this article, we are going to show you how you can map different variations of Tracking Companies, Providers, Tracking Numbers or Service Levels into a data format that better fits your business and is recognizable by external platforms.
An example of the importance of this data transformation is when Shopify doesn’t recognize a Tracking Company and it replaces it with ‘Other’. This limits the your visibility on how the parcel is shipped and could induce the sharing of incorrect data with your customers.

Disclaimers

❗️This setting is found at a Contact Level, meaning, that each Dropship Provider can have their own individual data mapping.

❗️❗️The naming conventions depend on your use case and the system you want to normalize the data for. Example: If you are Shopify based, the preference may be over Tracking Company naming as per Shopify’s conventions. If you are using a tracking service such as AfterShip to notify clients about upcoming delivery, it will be key to follow AfterShip naming conventions.
